Pedicures, depending on where you live, can cost $40 and up. We say hang on to that pedicure money, and pamper your feet with this $13 (down from $16) urea cream instead. Because you need only a small amount, this 5.29-ounce jar of cream can last for months.

Why do I need this?

We all want pedicure-perfect feet, silky-smooth hands, and enviable elbows and knees. This cream can get you closer. It works to heal deep, painful cracks in the skin. How? The formula contains avocado and vitamin E to soothe and moisturize, as well as glycerin, which exfoliates dead skin cells. It also stars allantoin, a compound known for reducing irritation, healing wounds and helping to fade scars. But the main cause for applause: 40% urea.

According to the National Library of Medicine, "urea is widely used in dermatology to improve skin barrier function and as one of the most common moisturizers and keratolytic agents." The NLM adds that "multiple clinical trials on the use of urea-containing formulations have shown significant clinical improvement in many of the dermatosis presenting with scaly and dry skin such as atopic dermatitis, ichthyosis, xerosis, seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis, among others."

It does take patience and consistent use to see results. The manufacture says visible effects can be seen within a couple of weeks of applying the cream to dry areas, while multiple shoppers said five-star results came within a month.
